BSC College Football
{football} Ohio State. What happened? Was it the outrageously long wait before playing another game? Could it have been some of the bad coaching decisions that cost the game? Or could it simply be that LSU outplayed you? Despite all the questions, one thing is for sure—the BSC system is a FAULTY system! Each team deserves a right to challenge themselves in playoff rounds to see the true two best teams are in the country fighting for a championship, not some lucky team who became the number 1 team in the nation by default. After all, even ESPN is doing a simulated playoff round with NCAA football Teams, and yet, the BSC is refusing to budge. Is that why the Buckeyes lost their second National Championship in a row? Now, let’s not make excuses. However, it is pretty certain that the faulty system put two greatly unevenly matched teams against each other, not by talent, but by differences in playing time from the final game of the week to the Championship game. The system is BAD. Fix it.
Ohio State Buckeyes
For those who follow NCAA Football, then they should know that the Ohio State Buckeyes are the Number 1 ranked team in the Nation. Remind you of anything? Before this year, the Buckeyes remained Number 1 through the whole year, played terrific every game, and defeated every opponent they faced—except for the one that really mattered. In the {ohio state} 2006 NCAA National Championship, the Ohio State Buckeyes didn’t just lose; they were embarrassed by the Number 2 Florida Gators. Although Ohio State had a tough schedule (playing teams who were ranked in the top 5 more than three times, including two teams who at the time were Number 2 in the Nation), the Buckeyes had to wait more than three months before playing in the National Title game, and were clearly unprepared for their opponent. On the flip side, the Buckeyes have won out so far this 2007 year, and again find themselves at Number 1. However, the Buckeyes this year did not have a difficult schedule, and because every team in front of them has lost, the Buckeyes automatically are the Number 1 team by default. Clearly not the team they were last year, the Buckeyes had a few games that were closer than they should have been, and even trailed against a team who wasn’t even in the top 15 in the Nation. Sure the Buckeyes are Number 1, but they are followed by the Number 2 ranked LSU Tigers, who had a brutal schedule this year and won many tough close games. Even though LSU did lose a game, there is only one other team that is undefeated and in the Top 10 in the Nation. And because LSU had such a tough schedule, they might as well look forward to playing Ohio State in the National Championship. As painful as it is, the Buckeyes may yet again find themselves with their second consecutive National Championship loss.
