NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse
Who needs to register with the NCAA Clearinghouse?
Any student who plans to attend an NCAA Divison I or II institution and who wishes to participate in intercollegiate athletics.
Why do students have to register with the NCAA Clearinghouse to play divison I or II sports?
In order to participate in athletics and receive athetically-based financial aid you must register with the NCAA initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse and meet eligibility standards.
What does the NCAA use to determine eligibility to play sports?
They will use a sliding scale based on your average in 14 or 16 (depending on the year you enter college) Required Core Courses AND your SAT or ACT scores. To see the list of Niagara Wheatfield's approved core courses or the sliding scale, go to NCAA.org.

You can go to the NCAA Clearinghouse website at

You may call the NCAA Clearinghouse at 1-800-638-3731 and request to have an application mailed to you.
Please remember- you MUST give a copy of the student Release form to the high school Counseling Center so we can mail them your offical high school transript.
When to register with the NCAA Clearinghouse
If you are a high school senior, NOW is the time to register. There is no offical deadline to register (as long as you are cleared by the time you start college) however, the sooner you register the sooner you find out your eligibility status.
