AIR CONDITIONING, REFRIGERATION AND HEATING
(3 credits per year)
 This course is designed to provide students with employable skills in the service and installation of residential and commercial air conditioning, heating and refrigeration units.  Students will attain a working knowledge of various components in numerous control systems, their operations separately and in combination with other controls.  Students will be capable of troubleshooting a control system.  Students will spend 72 hours shadowing during the second year of the program.
ALLIED HEALTH TECH PREP (3 credits per year)
Allied Health Tech Prep allows students to become aware of current and emerging career opportunities in health care, and skills and behavior required throughout the health professions.
AUTO BODY REPAIR & PAINTING (3 credits per year)
This is an occupational program for students who desire to earn a living in a special area of the automotive industry.  Students are trained in repair, painting, and finishing of automobile bodies and fenders; frame and body alignment; installation of upholstery, trim, hardware, locks and glass.  Persons who receive further study or receive experience through on‑the‑job training may become specialists in one type of repair or may qualify as shop supervisor, service manager or shop owner.  Students completing this program may also apply their skills to industrial painting of manufactured goods.
AUTO MECHANICS (3 credits per year)
This program is designed to prepare students who plan to enter the mechanics field in repair shops, service departments, dealerships, service stations, or fleet maintenance facilities.  Students who complete this program are trained as general mechanics and diagnosticians.  Further training and study may allow students to become specialists, service managers, shop supervisors or self‑employed.  Auto Mechanics provides general training and necessary theory of mechanical repair, including the engine, electrical system, cooling system, lubrication, carburetion, emission, drive line, suspension, brakes, and tires.  Students will learn to use technical manuals and operate diagnostic equipment.
AUTOMOTIVE TECH PREP (3 credits per year)
The Tech Prep Automotive program was developed in response to Erie Community College and dealerships’ need to produce graduates who are technically competitive to service today’s vehicles.  Because of this critical shortage, the Community College in conjunction with BOCES and the local dealerships have instituted the Auto Tech Prep Program.  The program is designed for juniors and seniors with a strong math and science background who anticipate going on for further education. Cars are getting tougher to work on.  And, it’s getting tougher to find good, qualified auto technicians.  Currently, there is a need for an additional 60,000 trained, professional technicians in the United States.  Experts predict this problem will get worse in the next decade.
BUILDING TRADES (3 credits per year)
This program is designed to prepare students for employment in some of the building trades.  The main activity for training is the building of a 1500 square foot modular home over the course of two years.  Students learn rough framing, masonry, plumbing, siding, drywall, insulation, painting, and carpentry.
COMPUTER AIDED DRAFTING (3 credits per year)
This course introduces students to the concepts and operation of engineering drawing using a computer.  During the second year of the program, students may specialize in architectural or machine drafting, and are learning 3D drawing.  Computer Aided Drafting includes articulation credit at Niagara County Community College.
CONSERVATION (3 credits per year)
Conservation students may look forward to careers in the forest industry, parks and environmental centers, state and county agencies, landscaping, and private industry.  This program includes instruction in management of forestry, wildlife, soil, water, outdoor recreation and related mechanics. 
COSMETOLOGY (3 credits per year)
Cosmetology includes all phases of training necessary to become a licensed cosmetologist.  Students will perform basic hair styling techniques on mannequins. As students progress in the course they will practice cosmetology skills on other students.  Second year students will work on the public in the cosmetology clinic.  Students are required to accumulate 1,000 hours of instruction.  Upon completion students will take the New York State licensure examination.
DIGITAL MEDIA (3 credits per year)
The Digital Media course is an intensive, two-year program designed to prepare students for further education and careers in multimedia, web design, and digital video production.  Possible job opportunities in this field include multimedia developer, digital video editor, web site developer, graphic designer, project manager and animator.  The program maintains a professional-level multimedia lab, including Macintosh workstations, digital photography, video and audio equipment, scanners and printers, Students are trained to use industry-standard software, including Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (3 credits per year)
Students completing the Early Childhood Education program will be trained as general early childhood workers.  They will work with the children in the site-based pre‑school program. 
ELECTRICITY/ELECTRONICS  (3 credits per year)
Electricity/Electronics is where students acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for successful entry into the electricity/electronics trade area.  Students learn basic programmable and industrial motor controls. Students will also learn how to install residential and commercial wiring.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (3 credits per year)
Emergency Medical Services provides students with the necessary skills required for certification and advancement in the field of emergency health care.  EMS focuses on all types of emergency care from pediatrics to geriatrics.  At the completion of the program, students will be prepared to take the New York State Emergency Medical Technician examination.    This course is where students acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for successful entry into the electricity/electronics trade area.  Students learn basic programmable and industrial motor controls. Students will also learn how to install residential and commercial wiring.
FOOD SERVICE (3 credits per year)
Students in Food Service are exposed to the variety of careers available within the food service and food preparation field.  By actual preparation, students will become familiar with the workings of a modern kitchen while preparing foods of various types.  Elements of the Food Service program include serving the public, food preparation, stock control, buying, and storage.
GRAPHIC ARTS (3 credits per year)
Graphic Arts provides students with a complete understanding of the graphic arts industry.  There are two sections of the Graphic Arts program.  The Electronic Publishing section covers illustration, design, publishing, and photo manipulation in a computer laboratory.  It uses industry standard software, multi-media, and web design equipment.  This is an intense computer graphics experience for the future designer.  The Offset Printing section covers process camera, negative stripping, plate making, printing, and finishing in the production laboratory.  It provides students with the production knowledge necessary for preparing photomechanical artwork.   It also offers opportunities in the printing production industry. 
HEALTH OCCUPATIONS TECHNICIAN (3 credits per year)
Students have experience in and exposure to multiple health careers in the Health Occupations Technicians program.  Students will be eligible to take exams for several certifications, including Certified Nursing Assistant, CPR, and Child Abuse Reporters.
MACHINE SHOP (3 credits per year)
The Machine Shop program emphasizes machine set‑up and operation skills, and the development of attitudes necessary to remain employed in the metal working field.  The course teaches interpretation of drawings, shop mathematics, heat treatment of metals, and cutting of metals.  The National Institute of Metal Working Skills (N.I.M.S.) certifies this program.  A graduate with this certification rating may earn as many as seven different machining credentials. 
PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECURITY (3 credits per year)
Students will receive instructional theory, and practice some methods of security in Public And Private Security.   Students may find employment in federal police agencies, local police agencies, transportation, public housing agencies, and prisons.  Additional employment may include bodyguards.   Shopping malls, security, hotels/motels, neighborhoods, industrial plants, and stores may also employ graduates of this program.  Students will be given a general background in law, the court system, patrol functions, investigative techniques, emergency response, and crisis intervention.
WELDING (3 credits per year)
Welding develops skills in all levels of welding.  A considerable amount of coursework is devoted to fabrication methods and production of welded items.  The class is set up with a structured, step‑by‑step order for moving through the various welding methods and processes.  Students will be required to complete practice pieces representing various metal joints in different positions.
