English 9

Emphasis in English 9 Regents is placed upon the development of skills in reading, composition, grammar, speaking, and listening. 
English 10
Emphasis in English 10 Regents is placed on developing a sense of critical thinking.
English 10 Honors  
This course is for students who have demonstrated an outstanding ability to communicate and use the English language.  *Prerequisites apply
English 11 
Emphasis in English 11 Regents is on the development of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

Elective English Courses
College Composition 1
This rigorous fall semester course is for college-bound students who want to develop their collegiate-level writing and research skills while earning Niagara County Community College credit.  *Prerequisites apply
College Composition 2
This intense spring semester course is for college-bound students who want to develop their collegiate-writing and literature analysis skills while earning Niagara County Community College credit.  *Prerequisites apply
American Theatre 1
This course encompasses the study of theatre history, basic dramatic acting, improvisation, analyzing text, scene writing, voice and movement. The course concludes with a student written play.
American Theatre 2
This course encompasses the study of theatre history, basic comedic acting, improvisation, analyzing text, scene writing, voice and movement. The course concludes with a student written play.
Local Legends
This course allows students to review legends and lore that are unique to the area.
Public Speaking
 
To speak coherently and persuasively is a skill required in college and all kinds of life and career situations.
Mythology/Sci Fi
This course deals with ancient to contemporary mythology beginning with Greek and Roman legends and continuing through current comic book heroes.
