Just an Illusion

Life is an endless battle,
Everyone's fighting to win,
Giving all you have to compete,
Never knowing when it will come to an end.

Trying you best not to face defeat,
You lose sight of what we never see.

We're living in a war,
Fighting for our territory.
Everyone has a voice that comes equipped
With a story,
A story of pain,
A story of struggles,
A story of loss... with nothing gained.

Every war must come to an end,
But in life every end is another way to begin.

Soon there will be no one left to fight,
Not a weapon loaded, And not a soldier left in sight.
In the end we must all realize
living is the only way to win.

We all come to the conclusion,
That in life true victory is just an illusion.

The Water

I sit and linger for the sun to fall
From its perched position in the hazy sky
It seemed to fall so swiftly
Like a child leaping vigorously into a pool

The fireball took its dive into the great lake
Sending water into the air
leading a blanket of mist
across the valley where I sit

The wind grabbed the scent of the water
And brushed it sofly past my nose
The water carried the sailboats smoothly
And rocked them like a newborn

The stars glimmered in the night sky
Reflecting their radience in the water like a looking glass
The air is now motionless
The other visitors have gone

The water flows tardily and gracefully
Along the ridged rocks
It's steady motion sounds off
The walls of its cage
And whispers a lullaby
